Tel Dan Nature Reserve

Tel Dan is a delightful place to hike in northern Israel.   Tel Dan Reserve covers 120 acres with bubbling streams, ancient ruins and hiking trails.   This is the historic site of ancient Dan.   You'll see the HIGH PLACE,  a shrine built by King Jeroboam,  THE CANAANITE GATE, and DAN SPRINGS.
HIKING ADVENTURES
DAN SPRINGS (short trail) 1 hour
DAN SPRINGS (long trail) 1 1/2 hours
ANCIENT DAN TRAIL (return via the springs) 2 hours
DAN SPRINGS/ATLANTIC PISTACHIO LOOKOUT/ANCIENT DAN 2.5 hours
SITES
WADING POOL is the only water you're allowed to wade in.
PISTACHIO LOOKOUT is a nice view of Mount Hermon, Naphtali mountains, Hula Valley and the Golan Heights.
DAN SPRINGS is the largest spring in the Dan River.
FLOUR MILL built 150 years ago.
THE HIGH PLACE a shrine from the Kingdom of Israel.
CANAANITE GATE a gate from 18th century BCE.
ISRAELITE GATE built of three pairs of pilasters, from the first temple period.
Visiting hours 8am to 4pm
On Fridays/holidays, closes 1 hour earlier.
