Bonneville Shoreline Trail

Bike the upper Bonneville Shoreline Trail south, go clockwise around the Wagner Spring loop, and return on the lower Bonneville Shoreline trail.

RED BUTTE TO WAGNER SPRING LOOP
DIRECTIONS: Park at Colorow Road (2310 East) and Wakara Way (300 South), outside the main entrance to Red Butte Gardens. The trail begins at the stop sign. Enjoy riding through the enchanted forest up to the Bonneville Shoreline trail.   Take the trail going up, on the south side of the new Natural History Museum.  When you reach a junction, take the Upper Bonneville trail south and pass by a bench.  Stay on the upper trail until you cross the fenced area, overlooking This Is The Place Monument.   Look for the SLOW sign, and coast down the hill.   You will come to a junction seeing apartment complexes and relay towers;  instead of following the Bonneville trail on the right, going down a steep hill; take the dirt road to the left.  This road goes down the hill, passing Wagner Spring and becomes a singletrack, above Emigration Canyon road.  At the junction, keep right and go up the hill to the Bonneville trail.  Follow the trail up to the fenced area.  Now take the lower road back to the Museum; and back to your vehicle.
GEAR: Helmet, gloves, pump, water, flat repair kit, energy snack, camera, and sun protection.
MILEAGE: 3.3 miles
ELEVATION GAIN: 300'
