Hezekiah's Tunnel

"Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah--all his might, and how he made a pool and a tunnel and brought water into the city--are they not written in the book of Chronicles of the kings of Judah?" 2 Kings 20:20 NKJV

Preparing for Assyrian aggression, Hezekiah had constructed an underground water tunnel from the Spring of Gihon, outside the city walls to the Pool of Siloam, inside the walls of Jerusalem.   The tunnel was dug from each end and zig zags in the middle.   How did the dig it without GPS?

Hezekiah's Tunnel is a must, when visiting Jerusalem.  Wear shorts, water sandals, and bring a flashlight or head lamp.   The tunnel is 1700' long, and takes about 30 minutes to hike through it.  You'll be wading several feet of water, depending on the rain flow.
At the entrance a small fee is charged.  There are changing rooms to put on your shorts and a few lockers to put your belongings in.
